When Can We Actually Buy Rolex's 2023 Releases?

New Rolex Releases 2023

In 2023, we saw some awesome watches come out of Watches and Wonders, specifically from Rolex. I have been on the edge of my seat for that Titanium Yacht-Master, but I have yet to receive "the call.” So, I decided to do a little research to see if anyone else has gotten "the call". I reached out to Rolex Authorized Dealers, asking what details they've gotten regarding the delivery of these watches. I also checked Instagram to see if any big Rolex buyers have been lucky enough to acquire a 2023 model. How available are Rolex's new watches from Watches and Wonders 2023? Let us dig in.

Rolex Explorer I 40mm Ref. 224270

Before getting into the seemingly-unobtanium watches, let's look at what we've actually started to see. First off, the new Explorer 40mm, reference 224270. This beauty was honestly a shock to see at Watches And Wonders. Not in a negative way, but in a surprisingly awesome way. I have a large wrist, so when the 39mm Explorer was replaced by the 36mm version, it kind of broke my heart. So, to see this baby show up to the party - I was happy as a freshman at their first frat party! Good news, this one is definitely available now. I have personally seen this watch at the AD and we even made a strap for it!!

Puzzle Dial Rolex Day-Date Ref. 12823X

Second, the Puzzle Dial Day-Date. This is one of those watches that I thought was cool from the start. Love it or hate it, if you happen to be John Mayer or the NFL GOAT, you're on the list and your local Rolex AD will be texting you soon. While I've seen a few posts on Instagram that this watch has been delivered, it's certainly not the easiest to get.

Third, and relatively similar in appearance to the Puzzle Dial Day-Date, is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Celebration dial, AKA the Bubble Dial OP. I have seen this watch in the wild, on the wrist of a seven year old girl at WindUP 2023 Chicago! It was frankly super cool. I know that it does give kindergarten / clown designer vibes, but frankly I do not care. It is awesome.

On to the watches that we have not seen in the steel (or gold for that matter). The one that I personally yearn for is the new Daytona! Man, that watch is a huge upgrade. I love the new bezel-set ceramic and the new lugs. Accoring to my sources, this gorgeous watch is supposed to hit shelves by the fourth quarter of 2023. Make sure your phone isn't on silent!

Titanium Rolex Yacht Master Ref. 226627 (and the 1908)

Other watches that also are supposed to be available by the end of 2023 are the Titanium Yacht-Master and the 1908. My sources said that the Titanium Yacht-Master was harder than expected to create in production. I heard the same about the 39mm Tudor Pelagos, so this may be true. Titanium is notoriously hard to machine and finish.

It is likely the Daytona, Yacht-Master and 1908 will be delivered in very low quantities at first. So, if you don't have a purchase history, or your uncle isn't the owner of a Rolex AD, do not expect a call. From my sources, Rolex account representatives have told ADs that very few of these watches will be coming in 2023.
