Watches You Can Share With Your Significant Other

watches you can share with your significant other

We’ve all been there, staring at the computer screen, squirming and trying so hard to not press ‘Buy Now’ on that new watch that’s caught your eye. And then you hear it, that little voice in your head reminding you what your spouse, gf/bf, significant other said just a few short months ago….“No more watches, you have enough.” You begin to panic because in the blink of an eye, you’re now on the confirmation page, and this is when the sweat starts. What are you going to tell her/him? That you needed to add a 15th watch to your collection? Haha, good luck! But…the wheels in your head start turning, and you quickly realize your partner hasn’t bought a new watch in forever or better yet, they don’t even HAVE a watch! New plan, your partner’s getting a new watch, but if you play your cards right, you’ll get equal time with it 😉.

That 47mm Panerai probably isn’t going to be the watch that makes them swoon and having a watch you can share with your significant other is challenging because there’s so many factors involved like shared style and wrist size. But, we think we’ve compiled a solid list of 4 new watches that will fit that need perfectly - make both of you happy, and most importantly, keep you out of trouble!

Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue

First on our list is the Tudor Black Bay 58 Navy Blue. This 39mm diver caused quite a stir this year being the only stainless steel blue sports watch that Rolex & Tudor decided to release. This vintage inspired diver, sans gilt accents, makes this a great option to share with your significant other as we think the colorway is slightly more unisex here. The size is perfect too! At 39mm wide and a lug to lug of 47mm, this Tudor fits so many wrist sizes. It’s not only super stylish but also heavily influenced by past Tudor divers.

MONTA Atlas

Next on our list is a brand we are certainly passionate about. The MONTA Atlas is the perfect watch to share with your S.O. Coming in at 38.5mm, it features a fresh opaline silver dial, GMT function, and it’s rated to 150 meters. This watch can certainly handle it all. Now while MONTA does offer a charcoal grey and MONTA blue Atlas, we think this Opaline Silver is the best option for ‘sharing’ as it tends to go with just about anything. With MONTA’s new quick adjust clasp, you can quickly make adjustments when switching watches between you and your partner per wrist size. It’s the perfect watch to hand to your partner before they head on a business trip and setting the GMT hand to “home time” for them will make them think of you every time they look down on their wrist. Did you know our Everest Rubber Straps for the Rolex Submariner fits MONTA’s case perfectly? Check them out here.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 2020 Release 36mm & 41mm

Our third option, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36mm & 41mm, also caused a lot of buzz at its release this year due to color options we haven’t seen Rolex do in quite some time. We think any of the new choices would be perfect for sharing between a couple. Many women are already swooning over the new “Tiffany Blue” dial color, and fellas...we know you love it too! The new OPs come in 28mm, 31mm, 34mm, 36mm, and 41mm, so there’s plenty of options. But, we think the 36mm and 41mm are the perfect shareable sizes.

Last but not least is the watch that pretty much won Watches & Wonders Week this year, and that is the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Calendar. While JLC has this watch listed in their ‘Men's’ section, we don’t see a reason why a woman wouldn't wear this herself. The watch comes in at 40mm, which is on the larger side but not uncommon for most people these days wearing 40mm and up Apple and fitness watches. The larger size is partly due to the amazing movement inside. The beautiful moonphase is commonly loved by everyone, and the clean dial has more than enough complications to satisfy just about anyone. Speaking of the moonphase window, JLC upgraded their caliber 866 movement to include a jumping complication. At the midpoint of every month, the date hand suddenly lunges forward from the 15th to the 16th to make sure the moonphase is never covered by the hands. No doubt your partner will forgive you for buying this one as long as they can wear it themselves!
