Tudor Releases New FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ in 300-Piece Limited Run

Tudor Releases New FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ in 300-Piece Limited Run

Tudor just released the Pelagos FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’—a new iteration of its popular cycling-inspired chronograph line. Like its most recent predecessor, the FXD Chrono ‘Pink’, this model is limited to just 300 pieces. While mechanically identical to previous FXD Chronos, the ‘Yellow’ offers a new twist that sets it apart.

The Basics: FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’

If you've followed Tudor's recent limited editions, you're already familiar with the basics here: the FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ is powered by the same MT5813 chronograph movement as the Cycling Edition and Pink FXD Chronos. It features a carbon composite case that’s remarkably light, durable, and perfect for summer wear. Limited to 300 numbered pieces, this latest FXD Chrono is tied to legendary cyclist Fabian Cancellara, celebrating his storied cycling career—specifically his 29 days wearing the iconic yellow jersey during his professional racing tenure.

What’s New and Notable

The FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ incorporates subtle but immediately noticeable changes. The yellow accents—on the chronograph seconds hand, tachometer scale, subdial surrounds, and strap stitching—provide a distinctive pop of color against the otherwise black dial and case.

I've had hands-on experience with the original Cycling Edition FXD Chrono, and the fit and finish of the carbon composite case and fabric strap are truly impressive. The watch feels weightless on the wrist—perfect for the warmer months.

My Take: The Best FXD Chrono Yet?

I’m partial to yellow-accented watches, so this FXD Chrono resonates strongly with me (as I type this, my yellow Doxa Sub 200T sits on my wrist). There's something visually appealing about the restrained use of yellow here, providing just enough contrast without overpowering the black tones. The result definitely gives that bumblebee look, but without overdoing it or being an eye sore.

This release continues Tudor’s streak of limited, colorful watches like the FXD Chrono Pink, Black Bay Chrono Flamingo Blue, and the recent Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue. Like its peers, the FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ pairs a column wheel chronograph movement, ultra-modern carbon composite case, and a fresh colorway that feels different without trying too hard. As I've written before about FXD Chronos: they simply have no parallel at this price point.

Availability and Competition

Limited to just 300 pieces, the FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ won't stick around long—especially given the built-in interest from cycling enthusiasts and Tudor collectors alike. It directly aligns with the similarly limited FXD Chrono Pink, making it clear that Tudor has found a comfortable niche with these special, numbered editions.

Final Thoughts

For us, the FXD Chrono ‘Yellow’ strikes the right balance, similar to its predecessors—subtle enough for daily wear yet distinctive enough to feel special. If the previous FXD Chronos caught your eye, this might be the best one yet. Personally, it has quickly jumped to the top of my favorite Tudor releases this year.
