Summer Looks For Your Rolex GMT-Master II

The GMT-Master is one of the most colorful watches in Rolex's lineup, with few other models offering such a wide range of color variations. So we decided to highlight a few standout strap combinations that match the GMT’s eclectic energy. For this roundup, we’re using photography from @Rolexdiver on Instagram—a true Rolex enthusiast who also happens to be excellent behind the camera.

Let’s start with the GMT-Master II BLNR, also known as the “Batman.”

This modern classic features a half-black, half-blue Cerachrom (ceramic) bezel. The color combo first debuted in 2013 as the reference 116710BLNR. In 2019, it was updated to the newer generation 126710BLNR on a Jubilee bracelet. After some watch-world disappointment, Rolex brought back the Oyster bracelet option in 2021. The version pictured above is the original reference 116710BLNR.

@Rolexdiver paired the Batman’s blue bezel and GMT hand with a matching blue Everest rubber strap with a tang buckle. Not only does this combo highlight the watch’s unique colors, but it also keeps the factory Oyster bracelet in mint condition. The polished center links are prone to scratches—so wearing it on an Everest strap means less wear, more flexibility, and all the aesthetic appeal.

Next up: a bold two-tone combo for the GMT-Master II BLRO, better known as the “Pepsi.”

This watch, now discontinued, is notoriously hard to get, and @Rolexdiver went all out with a red Everest strap on one side and a blue strap on the other—creating a playful look that’s perfect for summer, or even just the Fourth of July. And because we're collectors, we have to point out that this is a rare configuration—the red version of this tang buckle strap is discontinued, but you can achieve the same look with red and blue deployant straps (and save $40 when you bundle with an Everest buckle).

Because this configuration requires purchasing two straps, it gives you three strap options overall: full red, full blue, or the split-tone combo seen here. With the Fourth of July around the corner, it’s not a bad setup to consider.

To close things out, we’re heading back to the 1990s with the iconic GMT-Master II “Coke.”

This version features a black and red bezel and is shown here with a black Everest strap and tang buckle. Clean, classic, and versatile—it’s a strap that works just as well on the Coke as it would on the Batman or Pepsi. If you’re unsure where to start with Everest straps, black is always a safe first choice.

A quick detail to note: this Coke model has “SWISS T<25” printed on the dial, which indicates the use of tritium in the luminescent paint.
