Tudor released the Tudor Heritage black Bay 41 ref. 79540 in 2017 after the Tudor Heritage Black Bay 36 received an exceptional response. With a more masculine diameter and a striking yet subtle appearance, the model has a slightly different taste than the usual Black Bay.

With no rotating bezel, the model doesn’t quite sit in the sports model category. But, it is also not quite a dress watch either. WIth just the essential features and a greater presence on the wrist, the Tudor Black Bay 41 is the perfect casual, elegant sports watch. Some have compared it to the Rolex Explorer I - just a more affordable option.

The Tudor Black Bay 41 is still waterproof, but not as resistant (150mm vs. 200mm) as other Black Bays due to its lack of turning bezel. The bezel differences between the BB41 and other Black Bays may be the most visual change.

The lack of detailed bezel is striking. Flat and polished, it changes the perception of the watch as it is less compact. The proportions between the dial and bezel are almost a perfect blend of modern and vintage. The hands and indices mimic Tudor’s Black Bay diver models, boasting the snowflake hands from the 1960s, but the simplicity of its design creates a different allure. It maintains its heritage sporting a dial inspired by the TUDOR divers’ watches produced during the 1950s. But, the flat and glossy dial is more visible and more adaptable to casual chic attire.

Then, when we take a look at the case itself, it is slimmer. So while the size is more masculine compared to its predecessor - the 36mm Tudor Heritage Black Bay, the slimmer case only emphasizes the striking contrast between a rich history and a simple modern design. It still boasts a large winding crown - characteristic of Tudor's other models.

Housed inside is the ETA calibre 2824 with a 38-hour power reserve. This seems purposely done to maintain the entry level offer the Black Bay collection sports. While the Tudor Black Bay 41 is available with a leather watch strap or steel bracelet, Everest Bands offers both aftermarket Swiss-Made leather and rubber watch bands for this model here. The curved end connects perfectly to the case at the polished bevels on the lugs creating a combination as if it came from Tudor itself.

If you are on the hunt for a more entry level, casual chic option, the Tudor Heritage Black Bay 41 is a great option. Not only is the model highly reliable, the model is highly adaptable - the perfect everyday watch.
