The Pandas Have Arrived
It must be around 1:00pm in Basel. I just got up here in the American midwest, and already I know the pandas have arrived.
The Speedmaster CK2998
The first one to appear in my social media feed is the Limited Edition Omega CK2998. Straight lugs and a symmetric case with no crown guard. (Bet you were looking at that dial so hard, you didn’t see the lollypop chrono seconds hand!) For my money, it looks more like the old Paul Newman Daytonas than Rolex’s new release:
The rumored Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in 904L Steel and black ceramic Cerachrom bezel. This one’s been speculated about for quite a while. A looker for sure, but I kinda wish those sub-dials were solid black.
And in other cool news…
The new 40mm AirKing, ref. 116900, with a chronometer certified calibre 3131 and 100 meters of water resistance (in case of splashdown, I guess).
