Breaking News: Rolex Sets New Model Release Date in 2020!

Save the date!

After Baselworld 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, watch enthusiasts around the globe begrudgingly got their plane tickets refunded, hotel rooms cancelled, and their hearts broken. Baselworld is THE exclusive place for new releases from Rolex, Patek, Tudor and all the big-time luxury watch brands, so for it to be cancelled was a major blow to all of us.

After the cancellation, Rolex initially said they would release new models in April, but that date sadly came and went with nothing new being released.

According to A Blog To Watch, “Rolex and Tudor confided in authorized dealers and media outlets that the 2020 models would still be debuted on April 30, through a series of private press briefings and meetings with authorized dealers. As that possibility became less feasible due to the difficulties surrounding travel and social distancing, Rolex and Tudor announced another plan to unveil the 2020 novelties online on April 30 through the brands’ websites.”

After another cancelled release date, it was widely speculated that Rolex would postpone all new releases until 2021. This news felt like yet another painful blow to the already complete dumpster fire of a year 2020 has been.

But then Tudor made a huge announcement in July that started to make us feel that maybe, just maybe Rolex would follow suit! With the release of the new Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight Navy Blue, our hearts started to pitter-patter with what this could mean for 2020 Rolex releases.

So when can we hopefully expect some fancy new toys in our hands?

Our sources are now telling us that those new Rolex models will be released the first week of September in 2020! Yes! If this is true, and we have no reason to believe it isn’t, we couldn’t be more excited. 2020 needs something to look forward to, and some new Rolexes will be like Christmas come early!

In addition to our sources, WatchPro  reported that, “Retailers and journalists have been asked to keep September 1-4 open for meetings in London for what will be a coordinated global launch.” Sounds pretty official to me!

Whether or not it will be safe to have social gatherings in September is still yet to be seen, but we feel strongly that if Geneva Days happens in late August, this new Rolex reveal is certain to happen around the same time. Save the Date!

What do you hope to be released by Rolex in 2020? How about a new Rolex Submariner Date with the Caliber 3235? It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Milgauss. We would absolutely love to see a Ceramic Coke GMT Master be released. Or maybe a full Everose Daytona with ceramic bezel? Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes please!

Ahhhh, the predictions are endless. We want to know what you think! Tell us your predictions and hopes in the comments below!
